Submerge is back!

The Submerge strand of the event is aimed at young, new and emerging artists looking to create and display artwork on a public platform through a mentored commission in collaboration with the East Riding Visual Arts Uplift.

The experience allows artists to go through all the elements of concept to creation with the support of the event management, production teams and further contractors where required to ensure the piece is showcasing the best the artist has to offer.

The Diras

‘Amwaj’ (in Arabic loosely translated as ‘Waves’) Is a deeply personal representation of the story of refugees and asylum seekers forced to endure perilous journeys across the sea, from war and persecution, to reach the shores of safety and sanctuary. Visitors are encouraged to journey through the waves whilst hopefully absorbing the painted scenes.
